The virtual event organized jointly with the International Energy Agency (IEA) was held with nearly 200 participants. During the webinar was presented and analyzed the unpublished chapter on the region of Latin America and the Caribbean published in the IEA’s flagship report on hydrogen: the Global Hydrogen Review.

Published annually, this report provides a comprehensive overview of the current hydrogen situation globally. The latest version, published in October of this year, included for the first time a chapter dedicated to the region, assessing its progress, emerging opportunities and prospects for the industry in the region.

During the event, Amalia Pizarro together with Herib Blanco, authors of the Global Hydrogen Review, presented this chapter, offering a detailed analysis of the context of the countries of the region in the advancement of hydrogen, highlighting the specific challenges faced by Latin America and the Caribbean to consolidate as a relevant player in the global energy transition within this industry.

The presenters also highlighted various initiatives that are promoting the development of hydrogen as a key alternative for the decarbonization of energy matrices and the different industries in which it is currently being applied.
