IEA Global Hydrogen Review 2024: Regional Outlook for Latin America and the Caribbean

H2LAC is pleased to invite you to our next event organized jointly with the International Energy Agency (IEA), where the IEA’s flagship report on hydrogen will be presented and discussed: the Global Hydrogen Review.

Published annually, this report provides a comprehensive overview of the current global hydrogen situation. The latest version, published in October of this year, includes an unprecedented chapter dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean, assessing progress, emerging opportunities and prospects for the industry in the region.

In this virtual event, the IEA will present this chapter, giving an account of the specific challenges faced by the region to consolidate itself as a relevant actor in the global energy transition, hand in hand with hydrogen produced from renewable sources.

In addition, initiatives that are currently promoting the development of hydrogen as an alternative for the decarbonization of the energy matrix in Latin American and Caribbean countries will be highlighted.

The chapter will be presented by two authors of the Global Hydrogen Review, Amalia Pizarro and Herib Blanco and will be moderated by Juan Manuel Salazar, Advisor H2-diplo Decarbonization Diplomacy at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, GIZ GmbH.
