6th Green Hydrogen Summit Chile LAC 2025

Participatein the sixth version of the Green Hydrogen Summit Chile LAC 2025 this April 22 and 23. The largest renewable hydrogen event in Latin America and the Caribbean will bring together authorities and representatives of the public and private sector, who will analyze the progress and challenges to boost the development of the industry in the region.

In its previous versions, held in virtual and face-to-face format in Santiago de Chile, the event has established itself as a key space to promote collaboration, innovation and knowledge exchange. Thus, the different challenges and opportunities of the green hydrogen industry have been addressed, from financing and regulation to technological innovation and export opportunities.

The 2023 edition, the most recent, consolidated Chile as an international reference, highlighting the importance of regional cooperation and the need to accelerate the implementation of projects. In 2025, the event moves for the first time to a region outside the capital, reaffirming the commitment to decentralization and territorial development of hydrogen in the country.

The event will be held at the SurActivo Events Centerlocated in Hualpén, Concepción, Chile.

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH

The GIZ Cono Sur Energy Cluster has been working with the Ministry of Energy since 2014 to promote renewable energies, energy efficiency and renewable hydrogen.

The following projects are participating in the organization of this event:

  • Team Europe Project for the Development of Renewable Hydrogen in Chile: Co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), being implemented by GIZ and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
  • International Hydrogen Ramp-Up Program (H2Uppp): From the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), promotes projects and the development of the green hydrogen market in selected developing and emerging countries as part of the National Hydrogen Strategy.

It is the government institution responsible for preparing and coordinating, in a transparent and participatory manner, the different plans, policies and standards for the development of the country’s energy sector, thus ensuring that all Chilean men and women can access energy safely and at reasonable prices.

The Corporación de Fomento de la Producción works throughout Chile, supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and competitiveness, strengthening the creation of local value, human capital formation and the development of technological capabilities, with the main objective of promoting more and better opportunities to contribute to the sustainable economic development of the country.

Corfo Committee for the Development of the Green Hydrogen Industry and its Derivatives
This committee supports the implementation of the National Green Hydrogen Strategy, prepares action plans for the Strategy, manages State initiatives and programs for the development of H2V, and supports the design of instruments for promotion, productive or business innovation and financing, aimed at promoting a local industry of technology and service providers for the green hydrogen industry for both export and domestic use.

H2V Biobío

The Biobío Green Hydrogen Regional Strategic Program is financed by the State of Chile and is made up of a Governance composed of private companies, public entities and academia, and an executive team.
