Project Description

Decarbonisation of the explosive production process from the company ENAEX. In 2022, they committed to decarbonise this process, supplying their energy needs with 100% renewable energy (through PPAs).

Application

The Cachimayo plant produces hydrogen through electrolysis since decades ago, to produce ammonium nitrate, which is used to produce explosives for mining operations. Also, other catalysts are incorporated to capture GHG emitted by the process.
