We bring together public and private sector actors, along with academia, to create a dynamic ecosystem for green hydrogen. Through policy dialogue, capacity building and knowledge transfer, we seek to catalyze a significant change in the region’s energy matrix, contributing directly to Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7) by ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

The implementation of our platform is supported by the Euroclima Program, funded by the European Union and co-financed by the German federal government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). This support strengthens our ability to drive significant change throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

H2LAC is based on five fundamental pillars: facilitating the exchange of information on green hydrogen development, promoting regional collaboration, fostering multilevel dialogue, positioning Latin America and the Caribbean as a leader in green hydrogen, and strengthening the understanding of the value chain in the region.

We work closely with nearly 50 partners in 16 countries, including public agencies, private sector entities, renewable energy associations, European chambers of commerce in the region and knowledge institutions. Our strategic allies include the International Energy Agency (IEA), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the International Power-to-X Hub and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).

H2LAC’s vision aligns with a broader commitment to decarbonization, supporting national and regional efforts to achieve significant emissions reductions. We are dedicated to promoting a just energy transition, ensuring that the benefits of green hydrogen development are distributed equitably across Latin America and the Caribbean, paving the way for a resilient, low-carbon future.

Who we are H2LAC is a collaborative platform dedicated to promoting the development of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Latin America and the Caribbean.
